Absolut brand vodkas just recently released Absolut Los Angeles which is comprised mainly of Acai Berries, but also includes acerola, pomegranite, and blueberry.

Also, Veev liquors of Los Angeles, California have recently created Veev acai liquor, the world’s first acai berry spirit.  Veev acai liquor is a clear beverage with a strong berry taste.  The 60 proof alcohol is combined with prickly pear (a natural hangover remedy) and acerola cherry (similar to Absolut LA), and a distilled wheat spirit.

As with almost all companies promoting an acai berry supplement, or product containing acai berries, Veev is a very “green” company.  Not only has Veev partnered with Rainforest Action Network and the Sustainable Acai Project (both companies located in Brazil, where acai berries grow) to donate $1 for every bottle sold,  But Veev also uses recycled paper and soy ink in their marketing campaigns and gets the energy needed to power their distilleries from wind generators.

Foor a recipe uzing the tropical flavor of the acai berry, featured in the Brazilian Veev liquor, we turn to eco-chick.com, wo gives us a wonderful recipe for Cocoberry Winter Cocktail.

1 shot of VeeV acai berry liquor
1 shot of Purus vodka
1/2 cup of organic coconut sorbet (softened, not melted)
The juice of two blood oranges

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with a couple cubes of ice, and shake vigorously for about thirty seconds.  Then pour into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with orange slices and drink immediately.

This recipe makes two stiff drinks.
