Just last week I wrote an article titled Is MonaVie a Scam? That article was actually a follow-up to one written on October 7, 2008, titled MonaVie Scam. If you have any questions whether or not MonaVie is a scam, please refer to these two articles. They are not the most heavy-hitting pieces I have ever written, but they are informative.

I have written so many articles about the “MonaVie Scam” for this website because so many people are still inquisitive and unclear about the whole issue. And let me be clear, the product MonaVie is probably a very good product. It contains some Acai, I suspect very little, along with seventeen (17) other very healthy fruits and vegetables. Where the scam comes in is:

The makers of MonaVie tout Acai as the main ingredient of the product, but refuse to reveal the actual amount.

I have gone on and on for months now about the wonderful health and weight loss benefits of the acai berry and the acai berry diet. And I do so because the Acai Berry Diet works. It is evident in the numerous testimonials that flood my inbox daily.

Now I have also heard testimonials about MonaVie from individuals who have taken it daily for a number of months. The problem is the length of time which MonaVie must be consumed in order to take effect, which can get rather expensive. Here is an example:

MonaVie, including freight, costs $48.70 per bottle. With that you receive 25.35 ounces. At the recommended daily dosage of 2 oz., the cost per day for MonaVie is $3.84.

MonaVie costs $3.84 per day!

That equates to $115.20 per month, and $1,382.40 per year PER PERSON!! If you have two people in your household taking MonaVie then multiply that number by 2. And from what I have heard from loyal MonaVie consumers, you can expect to have increased energy and more stamina after paying around $345.60 (month 3). Compare that to the Acai Berry Diet which begins to naturally increase your energy levels from day 1. The reason for the difference is in the Acai. And that is my number one complaint about MonaVie. They tout themselves as a member of the Acai Berry Diet, but contain very little acai at all.

The Acai Berry Diet is simply 100% acai. The little Acai berry was named the world’s #1 Superfood, and is so powerful and potent there is no need for it to be combined with 17 other ingredients in order to offer great health and weight loss benefits to the consumer.

That is the first and foremost difference in the Acai Berry Diet vs MonaVie.

For a Limited Time ONLY, try the Acai Berry Diet absolutely free for 30 days, only pay shipping. Click HERE to learn more.

MonaVie is a pyramid scheme.

(Look closely at the name on the airplane)

The second reason that people feel MonaVie is a scam is the business model by which the product is sold. When you order a bottle of the Acai Berry Diet, you are ordering directly from the company who created the product. However, when you order a bottle of MonaVie, you are ordering from a distributor, located within a world-wide network of other distributors. And this distributor has several people above him, called an “upline” who are paid each and every time a bottle of MonaVie is sold. Hence the exorbitant price tag.

Please pardon my ranting. MonaVie is actually a very good product. I am happy that people are taking it and receiving health benefits from the nutrition provided by MonaVie’s ingredients. I just don’t appreciate when MonaVie is called the Acai Berry Diet, or compared to any of the products within the Acai Berry Diet Family, because it does not deserve to be.

The Acai Berry is the world’s #1 superfood, packed with nutrition and antioxidants, to help you perform at your peak, while burning unwanted fat and boosting energy levels.

If you have tried MonaVie I want to hear from you. Comment on this topic, and let me know your thoughts.

Thank You,
MonaVie “Scam” Review
Mixed reviews are circulating about one of the acai berry’s best-known products, MonaVie. Many opponents call MonaVie a “scam”. However, I do not think MonaVie is actually a scam. A scam suggests that you are being sold a bill of goods; they take your money, and leave you with an unsatisfactory product. MonaVie [...]

MonaVie does none of that.

Consisting of a nationwide web of distributors, MonaVie, and its myriad of other products, is sold to friends, family and acquaintances. I hardly think that someone who was involved with a scam would sell to their very own family.

It is hard to dispute the effectiveness of a product that has a cult-like following. Each member with a unique testimony of how MonaVie has changed their life.

MonaVie’s Beginnings
Launched in January of 2005, MonaVie was founded by Daillin Larsen, a 17-year direct sales veteran. Larsen decided to begin his own direct sales venture with a health and wellness product featuring unique nutritional value that would set itself apart from other health products.

Larsen decided that in addition to selling pure Açai berry juice that he would introduce additional tropical fruit juices to the product. Larsen worked with a team of scientists to collect an additional 19 fruits which would be combined to form the MonaVie that we know today. The juice touts itself as a product with natural healing properties, helping to boost the immune system and provide additional energy, among other benefits.

According to Wikipedia, “MonaVie has been the subject of recent media controversy, and several sources have questioned both the product’s value and the legality of claims regarding its reputed health benefits. The manufacturer of MonaVie products, as well as some of its senior distributors, were involved in four lawsuits between 2007 and 2008.”

MonaVie is Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)
MonaVie is sold through an MLM-style distributorship similar to Amway or Herbal Life. Each representative receiving commissions from the sales and recruitment efforts of those under him (known as the downline) similar to the shape of a pyramid (hence the term pyramid scheme). The more the downline sells and the more the downline recruits other salesmen, the more money the upline makes. This is a great model for marketing purposes, after all word of mouth advertising is the best form of advertising known to man. But for sales, the pay schedule for such an operation only leads to an inflated product price.

But business model aside, just how effective is the product? Does it do exactly what is claims to do? Or, are the sales representatives embellishing their results in order to sell product at the bequest of their upline?

MonaVie Ingredients
MonaVie’s most talked about ingredient is the Acai Berry. Harvested in the Amazon rainforest, and known for its acai berry benefits antioxidant the acai berry is most nutritious is a freeze dried state. It is unknown how much acai MonaVie actually contains because the company refuses to release that information. About 5.7% would be a good conservative guess.

MonaVie Original and Active juices list the following ingredients: blend of açaí (freeze-dried powder powder and puree); 100% fruit juice from concentrate (white grape, apple, acerola, purple grape, cranberry, passion fruit, apricot, prune, kiwi, blueberry, wolfberry (goji), pomegranate, lychee, camu camu); fruit purée (pear, banana, bilberry); citric acid, sodium benzoate. In addition to these ingredients, MonaVie Active lists d-glucosamine hydrochloride and esterified fatty acids as additives.

No Wonder MonaVie tastes so good. It’s like a fruit salad comprised of many of the fruits I eat every day, and that are available at the supermarket.

MonaVie is Expensive
A one-week supply of the wonder drink will cost you $45.00. So, for an entire month of health you are looking to have to spend $180.00. That would buy a lot of fruit!!
